  1. i have 2 dvds of the same. The 1st dvd is a compress single layer (4.7) movie which have english subtitles. the 2nd dvd is a dual layer (7.0) uncompress move which does not have english subtitle. lets asume that the both dvds do not have any menus and have the same movie length. well, my question is how can i take the english subtitle of the 1st dvd and put it into the 2nd dvd of the uncompress movie. lets say i have both ripped the dvds in to my hdd. Can i just replace the ifo files from the 1st to the 2nd ?

    plz help thanks

It's not quite that simple, but it might not be much harder. Look up ifoedit in the tools menu (or just click the word in this post), then check out the guides. I'm pretty sure there is one for adding subtitles to an authored disk.

the subs are in the vob files so you cannot just replace ifos. you must reauthor. read https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=267417
