  1. I have an old mpeg2 I encoded with TMPGEnc a long time ago that I set aside for a future burn to DVD. Now that day is here but the file is misbehaving.

It plays *fine* in Windows media player
I cannot DE-multiplex it in TMPGEnc
I cannot RE-multiplex it in TMPGEnc
I cannot demultiplex it in DVD-Lab
VirtualDub will open it but only recognize the first 5 seconds.
I try to convert to AVI with Pinnacle Studio or Ulead and I only get partial video and even less audio
I try extracting audio only with Adobe Audition and I only get partial audio, plus it is sped up.

Very strange stuff. Never seen anything like it before. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

(if any additional info would help, please ask)

  2. Not sure if it matters, but I've noticed most, if not all, video programs see the file's length as 3:28 even though it's actually 7:38

  3. DGIndex seems to have done the trick. I was able to demux with DGIndex and remux with TMPGEnc without a problem.
