    Newbie here, hello to all of you...

    I just got my camcorder and have some q's for you guys. it says that it will need SD memory to capture still pics, so does it mean i dont need it for my camcorder if I dont want to capture still pics? btw, is still pics same as pics that we take using digital camera?

    While browsing SD memory, I found OEM SD memory...what's this..how different is OEM compared with non OEM? Is the quality bad?

    Yes. SD mem only for stills.
    Yes, still pics=digital camera pics.
    Quality - the same (from experience). Just means it come "unbranded", with no bubble pack and glossy leaflet.

    Camcorder still specs are usually far inferior to a real still cam but it is sometimes nice to carry only one box.

    Likewise, "movie" capability of a digital still camera is far inferior to a camcorder.

    Currently, a camcorder does a better job doing stills than a digital camera does doing movies.
