    hi
i just found some of my old vcds and the discs they are on are ticking time bombs ready to rot, so i figured that i would just put them onto dvd. my qeuestion is what should i do to make them into a dvd? since they are vcd it would be dumb to make them into svcd as the quality would still be vcd. would i just need to upsample the audio for this? if i dont have to reencode the video, i would rather not (it is already pretty rough)

    thanks

    Yep, that's all.

TMPGEnc DVD Author can do that for you on the fly, so you could just extract the MPEGs out of the DAT files using VCDGear and then load the MPEGs straight into TDA and job's right.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. I'd personally run dvdlab after converting the files to mpeg through vcdgear......you load the mpegs and it will tell you that they arent complient and ask you if you wanna transcode the audio....nothing really too difficult, plus you can go and make menus for it, and even burn it using the built in burning........thats my thoughts, but yea, get em off the vcd's especially if they are getting old just so they dont get wrecked before you can convert them.
