TIMEOUT ERROR USING NERO

Ive done all the necessary steps including converting all my mpgs to VCD using TMPGEnc. The disc is only 500 megs and Nero seems as though it is burning fine but halfway throught the burn it freezes and gives me an error message: SCSI/ATAPI command timeout error
What gives?

have had that happen on corrupt mpeg files, not very often but it does happen, if you want to check just use the editor in tmpenc, select the whole file, and see if it will run all the way through, chances are it will hang.

Nope I ran all my files through TMPGEnc to make sure my files werent corrupt or out of sync. The answer is really quite simple. After messing around with different settings in Nero I got it to work. Initially my write speed was set to 16X... first problem... set it to a lower speed... I tried 4X and it worked perfect. Also make sure and check the write disc at once menu box.

Cool, glad you found out early about the lower write speed, it took me 6 mo to figure out why some disks had video break up during the movie, I now burn at 8x and have had no problem for 8 mo.

IMO i think your DMA is not ticked..
coz i had trouble burning at high speeds b4
