  1. After reviewing numerous posts, I must admit that as a new user to Nero and Studio 8, the things that can go wrong are numerous and exactly what to provide to this forum for help can be extensive. With that in mind I saw little resolution to problems like mine, although written about alot. I consider myself a fast learner though. Problem is that the MPEG1 files that I generated from Studio 8 (V 8.12) play just fine in every video player I have (On the computer, 4 of them). When I try to create a VCD through NERO Vision Express3 ( the latest version) with these same files, I get the opportunity to play the expected output just prior to burning. In every case, the video which is launched plays the audio just fine but the video studders as if there were huge amounts of lost frames. I have checked and re-checked all that I know to do in terms of frame rate, NTSC etc. but still no answer / resolution. Anyone have a clue?

What's then end result play like ? It could be that it is just a thinned-down preview or something.

I must say though that IMHO, you're going the long way if creating MPEG1 in studio, then most likely re-encoding and authoring in NeroVision (Nero is good at doing things without you knowing / telling it to do them). VCDEasy is considered the king of VCD authoring, and might be worth a look.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. I have noticed that you, jimmalenko, have responded to many issues and I am greatful for your comments. The effects of running this VCD is the same as the 'before burn' as I described. The video plays herky-jerky but the audio is just fine. I did suspect some re-coding going on but am befuddled as to how you would shut this off if that is even possible. Vision Express 3 will only load up formatted files so why would it re-code? A question that won't be answered i'm sure.

I have just downloaded the VCDEasy and will try this as an alternative, but as I have read in many other posts, VCDEasy is geared for someone with a-priori knowledge of how it all works. I;m not that person - yet. The guides mentioned for VCDEasy are topical only and no in depth explanations are given, meaning that you have to keep pounding away discovering how it all works. THis feels mighty uncomfortable as the collective knowledge here at this site, i'm sure can be very helpful in pulling those of us who want to learn quickly through this process. Thanks again for your help. I'm still counting on your and others for support.
