I googled divx recorder and came up with a few but after following a couple of pages of links they all lead to non English sites in Europe/Asia etc..
I did hit one english UK site selling an LG model but rather than waste search time does anyone have info on any US or Canadian dstributor like Best Buy etc... who would have these DIVX?MPEG4 stand alone recorders.

    Thanks

stackner, I'm afraid you're right. I searched for 'Divx DVD Recorders' and that's what they gave me. Guess I should have looked closer, Sorry gll99.

EDIT: Here's a article from this month about the LSI Corporation's DIVX chip for DVD recorders, but I don't know of any end manufactures yet:http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/050902/183/fr208.html

I have an LG 80gig RH7521W (PAL). It can only play back Divx format. Very convinient for p2p Divx video files. Only, problem will Divx playback is that it unable forward. I just burn the Divx file in ISO format with a +RW media.

All LG R series recorders support DL media.

PS. I did tried a PVR software(Showshifter) that can record directly to Divx. I give up after 1 year or so. Too buggy. Big issue with standby mode.

Before, you plunge in and get it, there are 2 more issues that I have not mention.
    1. It lost all the programming and clock setting once it's power is unplugged.
    2. I finalized may DVD recording and some how my DVD player couldn't player it. I am still trying to figure out.

I have at least 2~3 schedule recording and it's working fine. Have not tried on DL media as I still trying to figure why my DVD player refused to play a finalized +RW disc. Excellent for record, watch and trash.

I am also interested in this LG DVD recorder for its rich features that no other recorders have but unable to find any reviews. Will pchan pls do a simple general review here?

I'm interested in the LG 250GB HDD/DVD Recorder (LRH-539) too, but so far the only review I've seen is this minimalist one. Is there anyone who has this machine who would care to elaborate on it?
