  1. Hi, everybody,

Does anyone know a fast and easy way to convert subtitles in SUP format to PNG files which spumux can understand. I also need a text file in srt format.

I know spumux takes text subs but I want to use SubtitleCreator to produce SUPs because SubtitleCreator flexible functions to set the font style like 'bold', 'italic', etc.

I tried rather a complicated method like this:

    1) Made a SUP and a text file with frame numbers, using SubtitleCreator.
    2) Converted the SUP to BMPs using DVDSupDecoder.
    "C:\Program Files\DVDSupTools\DVDSupDecode.exe" -bitmap -ntsc test.sup
    3) Converted the BMPs to PNGs using GraphicsMagick.
    4) Converted the text file to SRT with subtitle timings. I used SubtitleWorkshop to do this.
    5) Created configuration xmls for DVDAuhtor and spumux.
    6) Authored a new DVD in DVDAuthor.

I played the new DVD. It's perfect, except one problem: the subtitle colors.
I had forgotten to adjust the colors!!

Does anyone know of a better way or a tool which can do the whole process?

    Any help will be appreciated!!

  2. I don't know if this question is still open?

The required tool is either pxsup2dast (included in dvdauthorgui, or compile it yourself: http://www.guru-group.fi/~too/sw/m2vmp2cut/pxsup2dast.c )
or sup2png included in GUI for dvdauthor (or download seperatly here:
    https://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/edcounter.php?file=download/sup2png_src.zip )
I tried to make sup2png a little bit more stable than pxsup2dast and also support all 16 possible palette colors with variable transparency.
