    Hello Guys!

I Just wanted to add a file in TMPGenc Xpress, but when I search for the avi and open it, a error message appears in the screen, see below:

It says: Cannot open the file D:\...etc..

Striking to the tale/story is that, when I install TMPGEnc Xpress at another PC, I also have this same problem...

Do I have first have to establish something in this program before I can add files (avi's)...?

    thnx!

Have you tried other avi files with the same results? Can you watch that avi file on your computer?
We need a bit more information to help you. I have no problems importing avi files into my
    tmpgenc express.
You do need to have the codecs installed before you can even watch the file, much less convert it.

Have you got the right codec(s) installed ? Use GSpot to figure out what codec your file uses.
    If in doubt, Google it.

wheres that guy who was pitching a fit cause the screenshots of TDA Pro 2.0 were too big and he had to scroll *gasp* to see the whole thing?

He needs to pay this thread a visit .

I'm afraid we will need either the entire message typed out or a larger screenshot as we can't read what that error box is saying. I know TMPGEnd does error out when either the audio or video isn't in a format it understands or as was said, the right codecs arent installed.

It's not your installation of the prog. It's the AVI file. Can you play it on your machine? It may simply not be compatible with it. Do you have any other files you can test?

Sounds like you do not have the proper codec as already mentioned. Can you post the specs of the file?

    Guys, thnx for your reactions!

    - I've tried other avi's, also the same error message appears...
    - I can watch the avi files without problems on my computer (for example with media player or real player)...
    - I've got installed an Xvid (1.0.3) and DivX (521) codec)...
    - The avi's I wanted to add in tmpgenc Xpress are all Xvid...

I hope you you can help me now.

    Thnx!

Humm,,, Maybe it is your install. Without getting personal, maybe the program source itself may have a problem. Since you state that it will not work on another machine.

Something that may or may not mean anthing, I thought I remember someone complaining that it needed access to the internet during use. People did not like that part of its operation. Other than that I have not clue. Sorry.

    Hmm, strange

I've a trialversion, downloaded from the website. So you should thougt that this has to work fine

I've tested this trialversion on 2 pc's, and on both the errormessage appears when I want to add an avi...

The program is on my C: drive, so no cd/dvd drives....

Do I maybe have installed the wrong codecs?
