    Hi Guys!

I've got some problems with Ac3Machine and BesweetGui.

My source audio is MP3 32000hz vbr 82 kb/s. I wanted to convert the audio into ac3 sound, so I used ac3machine. I also checked the sampling rato to 48000hz (this because tmpgEnc dvd author only accepts 48000hz and don't accept 32000hz).

After converting with ac3machine I played the new ac3 sound but there was a tapping sound every second in the complete film .After this I tried it again WITHOUT selecting "sampling rate to 48000hz", and this time the converted ac3 soundwas perfect, no taps...

Does anybody why I goes wrong when I check 48000hz in Ac3machine?

    2. Because in Ac3machine it went wrong I tried Besweet. I selected the profile`MP2_for_DVD, and clicked WAV to MP2. Now every time the converting stops after about a second . See pic below.

I also tried the wizard, but when I am in the last screen and click GO, there only appears o notepad window, and that was it, nothing happens .Also when I wanted to convert into ac3 audio with besweet, and played the converted ac3 file, every second there´s again a tapping sound

Does anybody knows what´s happening and how I can solve these problems.....

    Thnx a lot!!!!

If I was in your shoes, I would do this conversion straight with Ffmeggui. An vbr mp3 audio, and for more, 32.000 Hz sounds just like hell.

    Best regards.

I just downloaded the prog, but there is no possibility to change the framerate?! . I have to change the framerate into 25fps, I see no option in the prog....I have to say the prog did his work great, I converted a wav into ac3 and the sound was perfect, no taps! I hope you know something how I can also change the framerate

But you don't know what's the cause of the problems i've got with ac3machine and besweet?

  4. For an NTSC -> PAL conversion, this is a reliable method:

[EDIT] After you accomplish this successfully, convert to DVD-compliant MPEG2 and author. Good luck.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

You didn’t talk about framerate conversion in your previous post, did you?
OK, in that case, I should start extracting the audio to wav with Virtual, just to have a pretty nice source to start working on. Then you can do the framerate conversion with Besweet, from wav to wav. You can use R8brain to put this audio into 48.000 Hz. Then with Ffmpegui convert to AC3. But I’m afraid you will go out of sync. Too many manipulation on that audio, I guess. May someone illustrate us of a better way.

    Thnx mate!

I first extracting the audio to WAV with VDmod, after this I used Ffmpegui to put the audio into 48000hz and getting AC3 sound. And at last I did a framerate conversion with Ac3Machine. It went perfect

Something else: Many times when my source audio is VBR (Mp3), and I convert the audio into ac3 with ac3machine, the converted file is suddenly CBR (ac3) . I've heard CBR audio is worses than VBR, is this true? And do you know how comes that my VBR is changing into VBR . Isn't there a possibility to keep VBR audio?? (only when this is better audio of course )

    Thnx again!!!

I’m glad you could achieve it, because I really think it was kinda of a deal. About your question, well, I’ve never heard that quality of vbr could be better than cbr. I guess it’s only that when you use vbr you save some space to give to the video. The encoder does a first pass analizing the audio file and determining where it will need more bitrate, and when it is possible to use a lower bitrate. That, as I said, saves some space for the video. Once done this, it encodes with vbr. At least, that’s how I think it goes. It may be a good idea for rippers work, but, if you read the posts at this page, you will see that vbr is the cause of many many problems when processing, starting with Tmpgenc, that does not usually support vbr audio, what oblige you to work on the audio separately. VirtualDub(mod) also is not comfortable with those audios. I’m pulling my hear out myself, since, from some time ago, my Virtual wont save wav for me coming from vbr mp3 audio, nor my Tempgenc will deal with them, ugh!!

Hmm, ok! So it is not at all a disaster when my audio is converted from VBR into CBR 8) ?? Like I said, everytime I get this when I convert my mp3 audio into AC3 audio (with ac3machie). I became already a little bit frightened
