Ok I've recorded a video on my DVD RAM mini disk and made a copy on my Sony external unit. Now what do I need to do to erase the data on the disk so I can use it again?

    Thanks

    Read The F%$@king Manual.

Not the nicest of responses, but probably the best answer you can get.

No it's a Hitachi DZMV780A I don't remember seeing anything in the rtfm that said anything about recording over it.

    Thanks

Is there an option in the menu to format the disc? That is what's needed to erase what's on it.

Just checked, it's on p.130 deleting play list

    Thanks that is much appreciated.

I'm new to all this so I'm still in the dummy mode.

  10. I was going to suggest that - use the camcorder itself to erase it. I really don't know how to do it otherwise, I'm afraid!
