    I would like to know what is the best compression codec, some say divx some say intel indeo
    Could anyone help me
    I want to capture a video from a camcorder by analog (capture)

    You should try to capture your video uncompressed, then you will not loose quality...

    But to capture uncompressed requires a fast cpu & harddrive + a hell lot of diskspace... =)

    Maybe you should try the HUFFYUV codec when capturing?

    If you want to capture to lossless and you have LOTS of HD space, then you want to go with Huffy. If you don't have quite as much space (you'll still need a lot) then you will want to go with Picvideo MJEG set to a quality of 18. Use either VD or AVI_IO....good luck
