It seems that whenever I press "backup" in DVD Shrink, after it has analyzed the DVD, etc., I get the message:

"DVD Shrink 3.2 has encountered errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been created."

As promised, the program gets terminated.

This happens with every DVD I try; I've tried 5 or 6. I've tried reinstalling; also uninstalling and using an earlier version. Nothing works.

I can't find any error log. I'm using a fully updated version of W2K.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'm baffled.

I have no idea what could be wrong with your situation but try this just as a test. Rip it with Decrypter to files and then use shrink in file mode to see it it likes that better. There might be an issue with your DVD reader and Shrink even if it does analyze it w/o problems.

    Sorry I'm stumpped.

Try Nero Recode. It's made by the same guy who created Shrink. The difference is that recode was cotinued to be uodated and shrink stopped. There are many other programs that will do a babkup shrinking or not. Have you tried anay of them?

  5. If you are ripping with DVDShrink and get these errors, try to rip with DVD Decrypter in file mode and then use DVDShrink with decrypted files.
