Is there a program that can screen capture video playing of Windows Media Player, or any other media player. I've tried a few that can only capture video of the desktop and other programs, but not the video playing inside media players.

I'm trying not to use stream-recorders, Please help!!

  2. use imagegrab...
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ImageGrab

or with WMP you can set the acceleration to half in tools/option, and use the print screen key...

  3. In some videos, cntrl+i works in wmp. Or open up the pic in virtualdub and snapshot it.

    Quality is my policy.

  4. if you are trying to record the video

    camtasia works very well

In order to be able to capture the video you need to
disable display acceleration during capture in camtasia
and turn off video acceleration in WMP

im not sure on the reason for having to turn off display and video acceleration
but if you dont then the capture is just a black screen

sadly this makes files with certain codecs (xvid divx) appear a little grainy

it shouldnt be due to my pc not being powerful enough as i run an overclocked athlonxp at 2.4GHZ with 1GB of geil ram on an abit nf7 motherboard

if you are just trying to take pictures (jpeg or bitmap) of the video windows movie maker and power dvd both do it

  5. just use imagegrab... you don't need to change any setting in any player... and you don't even need to install it.. just download and unzip...open the video in imagegrab, find the frame you want and click the save screenshot button...simple and easy.
