  1. Hi, I searched around at other threads and the how to manual but am still struggling. I just got a mac a few weeks ago and have a bunch of avi and mov files I want to burn to dvd using popcorn. (I think I need the file to be a video_ts file to use popcorn but am still figuring this all out.) I just downloaded .9t and am not sure which video codec I should be using. I don't see any DVD or video_ts options. what should I be using?

    Thanks so much!

  2. Try the DVD ffmpeg preset. In the Options tab make sure that the Author as DVD (VIDEO_TS) box is checked.

  3. Thanks warmace! so, under the tools/author section I have the box checked for author as DVD(Video_TS). Is that what you mean by dvd preset? Does that mean any video codec I use will work? Thanks a lot!

  4. http://homepage.mac.com/major4/dvd_sub.html (ignore the subtitles part if you don't need them).

  5. Thanks major. so sorry for all the annoying questions, I'm just trying to get the hang of this.

I dragged the avi file over to the from box under source format (also tried adding it using the open button) and the From box reads "Unrecognized" and next to Video reads "no video" same with the Audio box. Is that normal? I decided to try encoding it to see what happens and when I hit the preview button the video does come up but with no sound.

  6. About the "Unrecognized" issue. Possibly your hard disk name contains special characters?
