    i have APC Uninterrupted Power Supply 500 which im using with one my pcs. can i also connect let say my lampshade or emergency light to it or maybe my portable DVD player when there is power interruption. im planning of making a customize cable socket so i can connect other appliances to it. i just want to expirement just asking if its feasible or safe for my appliances

    Not safe at all for a lot of them. The only things other than my monitor and PC that I plug into mine are my modem and router, but it's also a 1500VA unit. Maybe if you didn't have a PC plugged into it and didn't care about its life expectancy you could try using other things with it.

    You can plug just about any AC device into it, but the battery can only supply so much power. You may shorten your emergency power time considerably. Also they have a limited load rating. Too much power demand and it may blow a fuse.
