This has been a problem for me for a long time. Various (S)VCDs I burn work great on my Mac using VLC, yet when I play some of them in my DVD player (Sanyo DWM-400), it reads and will start the VCD yet the video is in black and white, and it scrolls up and down constantly. This happens when I rip with both Toast and Firestarter. Sometimes the VCDs work fine. Many times this happens. I've read months and months of posts on this forum and searched the net thinking this must be a common problem, but I can't seem to find a solution. I'm truly at my wits end. Can someone help?
Thank you much!!

Sounds just like what you'll get with an old PAL tv and a NTSC disc. It can't handle the framerate and you'll see a vertical scroll.

That's what I was thinking too. But the TV I'm watching it on is a new HD Panasonic. So that's why I'm really stumped.

Set your DVD player to "Multi" or consider your source .. was this downloaded from the internet?
