  1. Hello
I have some files in mpeg that I want to make a movie out of...When I past them in dvdlab they demux into 160mb (from 170) without any quality loss or anything else.
Now my question is...what is the difference? when I convert the files into dvd they are about 1,4 each but here I get them all for just 400mb...
    what could it be ?

You're not very clear - What do you do when you end up with 1.4 GB?
To me, it sounds like something in the latter case is reencoding what's obviously (since DVD lab accepts them) already DVD compliant mpegs into a higher bitrate version of the same. Since reencoding never can increase quality, you're just wasting bitrate (and disc space).

  3. The thing is that I have a .mpg clip at 200mb...

1: Then I convert it into dvd format and paste it into dvd-lab ( this file ends up at appro. 1,4 gb)

2: Then the other thing I can do is just to paste the mpg file into dvd lab where it will stay at the 200mb...
So once again my question is what's the difference between these two points

How do you go about 1: ?
If DVD Lab accepts the mpg as they are, I'm confident they are indeed already in "DVD format", and you'll gain nothing with 1: - just wsting bitrate, disc space and quality.
