    Hello....

Ive been using ffmpegX 0.0.9t to convert NTSC AVI files to play on my PAL Widescreen TV, i thought i'd cracked it but ive come up against a problem i cant solve.

what i need is a set of instructions to achieve the fastest, easiest conversion of these files

my problem .... i use ffmpeg dvd conversion preset, manual letterboxing because it appears to be faster, and until recently dvd 16:9 auto size, and PAL framerate (which was working fine), until i downloaded some AVI's with NTSC framerate 23.9 which worked but stuttered which i realised was the conversion to PAL framerate, so i started using the NTSC FILM framerate pulldown, using the same manual letterboxing method as before, 720 x432 with 72 72 letterboxing, they look fine on my ibook but when i put them on my dvd player they are out of position, they look like the bottom 3rd of the picture is being cut off, ie ive only got one black band at the top, please can someone help me !!!! the program is brilliant by the way!!!!

  2. Possibly your player expects NTSC FILM being 720x480?

I have just encoded the problem avi which was 592x320 23.976fps with the settings 720 x 460, DVD 16:9 auto size, NTSC FILM framerate, 10 10 manual letterboxing and it plays perfectly on my PAL Widescreen TV with no stutters and in correct aspect ratio etc .... thank u Mayor, im going to donate which is something ive never done with a shareware program before ... because the support on this forum is excellent and so is the program ... cheers mark.
