Watching burnt-DVD files problems on my dvd player

I have some xvids which are 4:3 and 16:9 which I converted to vobs using DivxtoDVD in order to burn onto a DVD disc to watch on my widescreen TV.

The problem is that when I watch it on my widescreen, the picture is zoomed in too much, the outer edges of the video are off the screen. This applies for both the 16:9 vobs and 4:3 vobs. Now I did try the different aspects on my dvd player settings - 16:9, 4:3 pan&scan, 4:3 letterbox. It is still too much zoomed in. Also, when Im in component 1 on my tv, I cannot change the tv's aspect ratio. Also, the zoom out function on my dvd player doesnt help at all, because I'm already zoomed out as much as possible.

Here is the configuration of the converted VOB file for one of the 16:9 videos:

So as you can see, I've tried all 3 aspect settings on my dvd player's settings and the video is still too zoomed in. Is there something I need to edit in the .IFO files or am I missing something? Note that my dvd player can't read xvids, which is why I had to convert them to DVD compliant files.
