I searched but all I really found was a no sound thread about it. I cannot get sin city to rip. I have AnyDVD latest version, I tried using cloneDVD2 but that didnt work and neither did DVDShrink. It got to 51% in Shrink and crashed saying an error in the file. I tried ripping it in Decrypter but that was the full 8gb, can I do that then get it to fit on a DVD5 somehow or do I gotta go through shrink first?

I had the same initial problem, but dvd shrink said that it was not encrypted (anyDvd). I cleaned the DVD and it worked flawlessly.

I hope your solution is just as simple.

hopefully. There is a small spot on the DVd and I tried that but it wouldnt come off Right now it is going through my old proceedure with no problem. I am running it through SmartRipper, which I used to use in the process of making a VCD before I got a DVD burner and its at 99% right now so I'm stumped why Shrink wont do it

is it possible that it could be an error that this isnt the newest AnyDVD? I just checked and I have 5.1.1.1, and newest I just found out is 5.4.1.1

Or would it not even get to 51% before crapping out if that were the problem?

Rip it with DVD Decrypter (full disc), compress with DVD Shrink, the main movie only should be about 75% with DD5.1, then write with your CloneDVD.

Can I have the full DVD with Menus and everything, except not have the trailers before the movie? or would the menus freak out and want them to play? I'm just not sure if it would accept me doing that

Just out of curiosity, let us know if either way worked, full disc or movie only.

I ripped it and burned it back to a dvdr with 0 problems.
both full and movie only.

The only 2 tools i use is DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink.

which order did you do it in? I'm now trying Decrypter first and it managed to get to 87% so far and counting so hopefully it'll be fine in a minute

hrm, well theres a crappy snag... I have 300mb free heh. So I'll tell ya how it works out. Most likely is fine now though because I got it through decrypter fine and opened in shrink and it says 3.8gb or so so I think im in good shape! Thanks!

I rip in "File" mode with DVD Decrypter, then open in dvd shrink and do what i want to do, back it up in ISO mode with shrink, then burn the ISO image back with DVD Decrypter.

oooo im gettin pissed off at this DVD. I got it fully on the hard drive with decrypter, its 7.somethin gigs, and then in shrink it gave me the cyclic redundancy check error. Can I disable that? I cant find the option. I'm gettin really annoyed at this disc, its like 2x as hard as any other one I've done

If DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter can't rip, try DVDFab Decrypter.

DVDFab Decrypter, anyDvd, i swear!!!!!! i have NEVER used these programs!!!
And i have yet!!!!!! to get my hands on one dvd that i could not backup with just DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 & DVD Shrink 3.2

And i get dvd's from region 2, region 4, the U.K. , Australia, Japan, ect. and still... i want to get just one.... please!!!!!!!! just one pressed dvd that i can't back up!!!
just to see that there is one out there!!!!!!

ok I'm SCREWED now. I updated AnyDVD and now NOTHING ON MY COMPUTER WORKS. Shrink wont open AIM wont open, My computer isnt loading anything on it. Something just royally messed my computer over. God hates me or something and wont let me rip this damn DVD

YEY I think I'm in the clear. Before it was crappin out at 51% but now its well past that. I duno what was goin on before, but I think im ok now. Its AnyDVD 5.4.1.1 with DVD Shrink and Decrypter. Workin like a charm FINALLY lol.

That is how I use CloneDVD ... with AnyDVD

I like CloneDVD because I can remove the trailers ... the names of the trailers will be there and it will go through the motions of making a attempt to play the trailer but nothing will occur and returns back to the menu ... to allow you another choice.

I don't use CloneDVD [I do shrink it but the setting is 98%] to actually shrink the DVD ... I either use DVDShrink or DVD-RB ... to do the shrinking.
