  1. How do you make a vcd capable of running on a stand alone and respond to the remote fast forward and rewind options. Are their other options as well ?? PS Im a Newbie. Be GENTLE.
    Just did my first burn jurasic 3.

  2. i as myself have yet to produce a VCD that will ff and rw smoothly. usually what i get is a still picture, then a few seconds, then another still picture, then a few seconds, and it repeats. don't get me wrong, it is ff and rw but i never know where its really at when i press play again.....

  3. Newenglander, I don't know how you burned your x(S)VCD but some programs are better than others. Nero has several problems burning SVCDs (but is normally ok for VCD). I recommend using VCDImager to make an image of your MPEG, and then burn that (ie. the bin/cue file).

    There are a lot of programs that can burn bin/cue files. But I'd recommend CDRDAO (freeware) with on of it's GUIs: VCDeasy or TSCV. Both come bundled with VCDImager, so it's like one stop shopping Newest ver can be d/loaded from http://www.doom9.org

    Another GUI for CDRDAO is XDuplicator (do a google search). Other good programs to burn bin/cue are CDRWIN and fireburner.

    What FFW and REW looks like exactly will depend on your player. On my players, the behaviour is similar but rather than a "few seconds" between stills, it is probably less than or about a second.
