Hello everyone I converted an .avi file to VOB using DivxToDVD, I then used InterVideo WInDVD to create a DVD so I can watch the moovie in a stand alone dvd player on my TV. The movie will play fine on the DVD player until the end of the first VOB file, then it will take me back to the menu screen. Once I converted the movie to .avi to VOB I burnted all these files to the DVD.
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
It restarts back to the beginning of the movie when its done with the VTS_01_0.VOB It won't go past that point. Do you have any idea why or how I can fix this? For some reason I can't burn VOB files with Nero Express, the burn always stalls, i'm using DVD + R 4x, and I never tell Nero to write any faster then 4x, i even try 2.5x to see if that will keep it from freezing when its burning. So thats why I tried InterVideo WInDVD, the burn wouldn't freeze at all, and everything seemed to be working great until this happened. Any help would be great. Thank you for listening.

Your process is screwed up to start with. If your avi isn't corrupted, then running it through DivxtoDVD should have given you a video_TS folder with ALL the required files in it. There should be no need to load the vobs into anything else unless you wish to create a menu. NVE is probably cjhoking because it would be trying to convert the vobs and re-encode them.
If you have a video_TS folder, with the files listed above contained in it, then you have your DVD. Use your burning software to create a DVD Video disk, and load the content of this folder for burning. If you just burn those files as a data disk, which I suspect you have, then some players may play some of it (as your did), but you don't have a DVD, so most wont.
It really sounds like your PC and your process are pretty much in need of a rework. Stalled burns, having to burn under-speed, running perfectly good DVD structures through superfluous programs . . . . none of it is good.
Start simple. DivxtoDVD will produce all the output you need. Load Nero (although there is better burning software out there), select DVD Video. Replace the Video_TS folder in Nero's dummy structure with the one DivxtoDVD created and burn. If this doesn't work, or your burn fails, start by checking the quality of your media. Cheap media will cause more problems that the savings are worth. If you are using good media, I would seriously consider whether or not it is time for a rebuild.Read my blog here.

"It restarts back to the beginning of the movie when its done with the VTS_01_0.VOB It won't go past that point. "
if you create the dvd with some chapters, or some titles, but you didn't chain them together( the author didn't set jump next chapter command at the chapter's post command), the dvd player will jump back to the main menu after a chapter or title playback.
so maybe you should reauthor your dvd again. -
Thanks that fixed it wolfman, but i noticed my picture got shrunk down alot...I'm burning 2 hour dvd's insteed of 1 hour because the 1 hours won't fit on a regular dvd. But like there is huge black space above and below even more then normal, and the picture is alittle stretched. But when I watch the file being encoded its really nice and big, any ideas on how I can keep it full screened or just not as stretched?
