ok some background

I have these little gidgets www.multipodaction.com

I attach them to everything they record 640x480 30fps vga video with sound at over 1400kbit !! nice !!

anyway tmpgenc is able to convert these to mpeg2 extra nice

if I burn these to dvd they work awesome ! here is the trouble I am trying to "author" some neato discs with them

Cutting splicing adding split scense etc.. so far so good working great

I make all these little mpeg2 files I then put them in the right oder in tmpgenc dvd author 1.6

make a nice menu etc.. comes out awesome except this problem

I keep losing audio sync from clip to clip. here is why I "think" I am losing sync I am hoping someone can confirm or correct and tell me how to fix it

NOT ALL dvd players have this sync problem !! really weird some it seems can adjust to wahtever is goofy about the disc. I tried different media and different burn speeds and different computers and burners all the same so I dont think its hardware.

for test this yourself you can grab an asf from the camera by downloading the 22.5mb sampler file from my site.

It seems the audio gets ahead of the video which tends to confirm my hunch

here is what I did. to make the cut scenes I made a jpg I then in goldwave madea 6 sec 44khz stereo wav

in tmpgenc I picked the jpg as video source and the 6sec wav as video source and told it to make me an mpeg2. works great I do that a lot :-)

I am THINKING the audio is not exactly the same length as the video for some reason ? so when I drop these into tmpgenc maybe it combines these seperate videos into one single video and the slight discrepencies in audio and video length build up toward the end of the video etc..

BUT if I am playing the video and its out of sync and I tap rewind and play quickly on the dvd player it "resyncs" the video

some standalone players that do NOT exhibit this problem DO exhibit a slight hiccup in the audio between clips as if its "adjusting" for the syn issue (these are the players that do not have sync problems)

I made each dvd section into a divx file you can download to see what it is I did www.multipodaction.com/rawvideo each "segment" you see is a seperate mpeg2 file that I drop into dvd author to make the whole.

the glider one is online the vidtastic one is uploading now. they are rather large be warned

any help in solving this problem would be GREATLY apprecaited !! this camera works so well that I plan to do this a lot more often and want to solve this problem early :-) its realllly annoying to have the audio sync issues grrr :-)
