I am unsure as to which application will make full use of a P4 HT - somewhere I read that VirtualDub does not (yet) allow full use of this technology? I mainly convert Type I DV into XviD using VirtualDub; or DVD into XviD using AutoGK. Uncertainty as to what the added speed benefits would be of getting an HT-enabled computer, if anyone has some data on what utilities and applications are HT-ready, it would be much appreciated.

VirtualDub as used by AutoGK wouldn't use much CPU anyway as AVISynth is doing the decoding, etc. and XviD is doing the encoding.
