  1. I just finished re-installing Windows and I can only get a max of 6MB/s...when I should be getting anywhere from 10 to 15. Why would there be such a dramatic change?

It could be your (new) drivers have set the network card to half duplex or have set the speed of the card to 10mb/s . Click on the hardware settings of the network card and try to manually set your card to full duplex and 100mb/s

  3. I just did a Force 100 full duplex and it slowed my speed to a 1mbs...I put it back to autonegotiate. Damn...I really thought that was gonna work. Could it be my actually network card? It's an onboard card and my mobo could be getting old...but I guess that's a long shot.

  4. Update...

When I re-installed, instead of putting Sygate as my firewall I put Kerio. Sygate, for some reason, slowed everything down so I uninstalled it and put it Kerio...never used it. I turned it off to see if that would make a difference, and it did. Now, why would it? Sygate never slowed my connection!!

Sounds like Kerio was buffering the incoming data... hmmm... strange.
