The movies is about four people (I think) that awaken to find that they were the only ones left on earth. I don't remember the event which left them alone but they were; at least according to the preveiw. I think the movie came out about 3 to 5 years ago, I may be off by a year, but 3 to 5 years is close.

A little bit of the plot or setting might help narrow it down.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

I really don't know a lot about the movie because all that I saw was the preveiw and that was some time ago.

All I remeber is some teens, I think, roaming the streets in search of others. I don't think any zombies were in the movie. Sorry for the lack of info.

A similar plot, but MUCH older would be "Day of the Triffids"

Listen to the old radio show, or watch the old BBC series. The USA movie kinda sucks, took too many liberties.

That is, if this sort of plot appeals to you.

Thanx for the reply, but the movie I'm searching for came out in this millenium.

Night of the comet was released in 1984 only; no remakes.

How many movies were released in the last 5 to 10 years that involved a few number of people whom found themselves alone on earth?

I can only think of "The Langoliers". I don't think it's what you're after though.

"THE LANGOLIERS is a movie based on a novel by Stephen King. It tells a mysterious story about a flight to another time dimension. A blind girl (main character with special abilities), a teacher, a machine worker, a musician, a stoner, a mystery writer, a businessman, a mysterious Englishman, and a raving psychopath are on a plane to Boston when they find themselves waking up (from sleep) on an empty airplane. All of the passengers and crew vanished. They were all that were left.

After a slight panicking, one of them landed the plane at Bangor, Maine, as he was an ex-pilot himself. At the airport, they soon discovered that they were the only ones left and the whole airport and possibly the whole town was empty. Everyone had vanished. They tried everything they could to survive and during their stay, they found out that they were stuck in the past. This alternate past was empty and is already dead. The blind girl had special abilities that allowed her to know what was happening to them.

At the airport, they faced challenges not only from this mysterious happening but also from one of them who was a raving psychopath, trying to murder them one by one. They tried to figure out a way to get out of the place and soon they realised that they had to fly the plane in order to cross back to the future as the past will soon be destroyed by magical creatures called the Langoliers."

How about 3 people? Could you be thinking of "The Quiet Earth?" It starts out with only one person waking up to find himself alone ... though later, he finds two other people. It's a 1985 film that is only available on VHS in the US ... but available on DVD in the U.K. I bought my DVD from Amazon.co.uk. Even with shipping/handling, the total cost only came to about $15 after currency conversion. And it looks great on my region-format-free Yamakawa DVD player. I captured it with my Hauppauge card and made an NTSC DVD backup of it.

While we're on a theme, "Where have all the people gone ?" - I'm guessing around 1974 with Peter Graves. I think it was made for TV. Solar flares trun everybody to dust, but PG and his family have been exploring caves and were deep enough to be safe. They emerge unaware that most people are dead. Eventually the find a few others, but it's not a happy time. I remember seeing this when I was about 8 and it was creepy. Now it's pretty cheesy and camp. Oh well.
