  1. Hi

    Hope someone can help

I’ve recorded two films from TV onto DVD-RAM and want to convert these to DVD-R with some menus of my own.

I’ve converted the DVD-RAM to DVD-R using TMPGEnc Author 1.5 but the files are too large to fit onto DVD-R, I was hoping to then use dvd shrink to reduce the size of the file so that they could then be burnt onto a 4.7GB disc.

I have all the files saved on my hard drive but when I try to open them in DVD Shrink I just get an error.

    Is it possible?

Am I asking the impossible with DVD Shrink, if so can anyone point me in the direction of some software to reduce the size of these files.

    Any help would appreciated

    Thanks in advance.

That is not a dvd-video. You should get files like https://www.videohelp.com/dvd#struct

How did you use tmpgenc dvd author? author and output to folder on your hd.

The files you are trying to input into dvd shrink are the raw mpg files that TDA extracted from your original dvd while it was authoring your new DVD. You need to find the folder that TDA created for your new dvd and open that one with dvd shrink. It will have an AUDIO_TS folder (which is empty) and a VIDEO_TS folder (with all the dvd files in it like VIDEO_TS.IFO, etc).

  7. Ok i've started again and converted the two films from dvd ram which i want on a dvd.

The only problem being that TMPGEnc dvd author is cutting the end off my second film, it started to convert the film and stopped with ten minutes still to go and then when i try to add in chapters there is only 57mins of the film.

It looks like it is cutting out because i have more than the 4.5GB of data the problem is that i'm not sure how to increase the size of the data which i'm allowed when i go into settings there is only the option for 4.5GB

    Any ideas???
