I'm in the market for a combo VCR/DVD recorder to transfer my old VHS analog tapes. I realize the transfer is quite straightforward, but once its burned in say a DVD+RW format, how do you go about editing it (i.e. cutting, splicing, menus, etc)? I currently do not own a DVD-RWritable drive for my computer but believe I will need one, (internal ide/external usb) to do the editing. I assume I will need some DVD editing software installed on the computer also, correct? Once I transfer the VHS tape to the DVD, do I have to finalize it then? If I finalize it, can I then edit it later on the computer DVD RWritable drive? I'm sorry if I appear to be jumping around but its all pretty new to me and there are still some aspects of this that confuse me.
