I recorded two graduations using my miniDV transferred to LiteOn 5007 (DVD+RW) via firewire.

I recorded at HQ. When played back they quality is very good.

Now I want to reauthor it with TDA. I followed one guide here on VideoHelp using TDA but had no success.

Has anybody had any success reauthoring a DVD VR??

I click on the add DVD video, no videos show up.

I also tried extracting the files using dvd decrypter no luck either. I know dvdshrink will not recognize the dvd.

    Thanks for your reply

  4. Did you finalize the DVD+RW in the Lite-On DVD recorder? If you didn't, it won't be recognized by other players or your computer DVD-ROM drive.

I tried that, I followed the manuals instructions.

When I tried to finalize it, it instructed me to put disc in, tried that twice in which I found odd.

Are there any other ways of finalizing the disc.

PS: Forgot to mention the Media is TDK DVD+RW 4X
My DVD Rom just spins. My Burner recognizes it.

    Edit:

I am going to try this guide and I will report progress.

    THanKs.

  6. I just realized that Lite-On says in the instructions that finalizing +RW's is not necessary. Only for +R discs. Can your burner "see" the video files on the +RW? Can you just copy them to your hard drive by dragging them to your desktop?

I will try that later on today.

But wouldn't it be the same?

    UPDATE

    I followed this guide
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/edit/dvdrecorder/recorderedit.htm

I renamed the resulting vob file to mpg.

Then added the "mpeg" file to TDA.

Hope this helps anybody with the same question.

I notice that you are running win ME, ME Bad. I don't believe it supports reading udf/vr files (experts correct me if I am wrong). (Even early versions of xp don't). If it's in the budget suggest upgrade to most recent xp, If not try udf reader, I will try to find the link in one of my old posts. In the meantime you might try isobuster to extract the files to your hard drive, you may need the pro version.

Here is the link to udf reader:
    http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry17c?SP=10007&PN=5&CID=0&SID=27617&PID=5...P=0&CACHE_ID=0
It should help you access the files.

BTW, Baldrick, if you are "listening", have you considered adding a udf reader to tools section? Lots of people seem to be having problems with VR files.
