  1. And have the following msg:

You have more PAL than NTSC material but will be encoded in NTSC if you use the current settings. Do you want to change the settings to PAL so that your project will be encoded in the video mode that matches of your projects content?

well, shouldnt really need a survey?

do u want it in PAL (standard for Europe) or NTSC (standard for USA) ??

    where r u?

does your dvd player support one or other or both?

If your player supports both then it probably better to go with the format that the majority of the amterial is already in.

if you're only burning the file/s burn them as you would a data file. If you're converting them convert the file/s to ntsc

WOW, it's too bad you don't come with English subtitles

Sadly, I'm just too stupid to figure out what you mean here. I'm burning them onto a DVD to watch on my DVD player. PAL or NTSC? I'm assuming since I'm NYC, USA it's going to be PAL, right?

    NO

    NTSC for USA

(unless you are sure your DVD player is PAL compatible)

Dont worry, i understand why you dont understand.

    I do understand it.

What he is trying to say is are you putting the files onto a DVD for data retrival purposes, or do you want to ut it on a DVD to play in your standalone player

(i know you have answered this is your subsequent post)

Lesson 1: You can't mix PAL and NTSC on the same DVD according to the DVD spec. However, that doesn't mean that you can't do it, EOS. DVDPatcher can patch the headers of your files such that most authoring softwares will think you have PAL when you really have NTSC, and vice-versa. I don't know whether it fools Nero, but it's worth a shot.

Lesson 2: NEVER EVER EVER let Nero do the encoding for you. Baaaaad idea. Nero is best used as a burning tool. Everything else (with the possible exception of Recode), can be done much better IMO by other tools.
    If in doubt, Google it.
