  1. I can't capture more than 2GB with my DC30 ...
And the driver under w2000 are very poor, so I can't use VirtualDub or AVIIO to use multisegment ...

    What can I do ?!?

  2. The NTFS structure allows has no limit on file size, but the avi standard says that no file can be larger than 2GB. Most programs thou don't care, it appears thou that your does.

So you've got a software problem. I would try to find a different program to capture with. What's the problem if VDub or AVI_IO? What happens when your captures reach 2GB?

  3. As Vejita-sama said, it's the limit of the AVI-Fileformat.

To the NTFS-filesystem I want to add, that there is a filesizelimit!
    But you'll never reach it!!!
With NTFS you can create Files with 16EB (EB=ExaByte, 2 steps lager than TB).

You can get VirtualDub on http://www.virtualdub.org for free.
Under http://www.sssoft.net you can download VDstart. With this tool you can say start capture at 16:05 and stop it at 17:15.

  4. My problem is that DC30 hasn't a good win2000 driver, and I can only capture with its native program "miroVIDEO capture". I does not install a driver to allow other apps to use my video-card .... what can I do under win2000 ?!?

  5. Not sure if this is the problem, but if the DC30 is using WDM driver under Win2000, maybe you can try the WDM>VFW wrapper to allow use with VFW programs like Virtual Dub and AVI_IO. You can find it at http://faq.arstechnica.com/?i=4

  6. if you are running directx 8(a) install the video capture update at http://www.microsoft.com/directx/. if your wdm drivers are installed properly it should give you access to the VFWWDM mapper

  7. I also have a DC30 running on Windows 2000 and have been unsuccessful getting AVI_IO or Virtualdub to capture using the card. I tried the WDM>VFW wrapper, and AVI_IO does recognize it, but when I try to capture it gives me an error about unable to connect to device, choose another. I had Direct X 8.0a installed. On a hope, I upgraded it to 8.1, but I'm still getting the same results.

There is another thread, entitled, "MiroDc30 Plus/Adobe Priemere5.1" thread that looks to have useful information in it. I am reading through it now.
