Some friends and I recorded some wakeboarding footage recently. We used a friends Panasonic camcorder with some dvd-r disks thinking my computer would read them fine. I use regular dvd-r all the time with no problems. I do not have access to the camcorder now, but I did get the 3 dvd-r maxwell disks we used. For some reason my computer does not recognize them as well as my home dvd player. Usually they both play dvd-r fine. Can someone please help me with step I need to get the footage to my hd for editing. Thanks in advance!

ok I read around the forums and used isobuster to actually read the drive. Windows would not read from it. It extracted 4 .tao files and windows media player will actually play everything now, but none of my editing programs will work with the .tao files. I was told maybe it has something to do with not finalizing the dvd. Would I need to finalize it in the panasonic dvd camcorders?
