No chapters, 1st time trying v2.0.2029 of 7-22-05

AFAIK I have never had problems with S2D making chapters every 5 min, it has been set that way in the default optins forever.

Here's what I did:

Got an ISO of a movie which had no chapters. Otherwise it played fine with
Power DVD-5. Mounted the ISO with Alcohol 120%, pointed VOB2MPG at it and extracted a 3GB+ MPG. Ran that thru current S2D and
played the VIDEO_TS file with PDVD, as is my wont.

PVDV says it still has only 1 chapter.

Bug or something I did wrong ?

Well that clearly is not right. If it is only that run then a sample uploaded to my ftp would allow me to investigate. It would need to be at least 5 mins worth.

I hope you mean the 1st >=5 min of the mpg, which I can create with
TMPgenc or Womble. If you mean of the VOB set I need a pointer on how
to chop a VOB.

look @ tools\makesample.exe in the SVCD2DVD folder. I do need a sample from the original mpg without any further programs influence...

Here's the current state of affairs with this movie.

Before I got your reply about MAKESAMPLE.EXE I did a 6 min cut of the beginning with Womble, then ran that MPG thru S2D. It added a chapter fine. Womble fixes so many things, I love it !

Thus I believe that I can get studly results by processing with Womble, and am doing that right now, I also took the opportuniy to cut out some
junk [balck screens] from near the start and at the end - about 30+ seconds.

Bottom line is that the problem is with some anonymous poster's gorked
DVD, if you want a sample for technical curiosity or whatever I will up it
via yousendit.com - a great site, anyone can upload a file up to
1GB, they send the uploader and his pal an email with a link to d/l it with his browser, and it lives on their server for 7 days, and it's all FREE !

So, if your FTP is unavailable but your browser works you will have it as soon as you care to snag it - you'll get an email when I have up'd it.
