  2. I dont know about ALL, I would say the majority do, because they are manufactured with the intent that they some consumers arent quick to upgrade unless they have to & the often flucuation in memory prices.

  3. Go here

    http://www.ocworkbench.com/hardware/epox/8kha/8khap2.htm

Besides, with DDR Memory, just ditch the sdram and buy the DDR.I saw a 256MB DDR stick at http://www.tigerdirect.com for like $40 .

  4. Sorry, Kdiddy, but not true at all:

DDRAM (Double Data Ram) evolved from SDRAM as a cost-effective alternative to Rambus memory, which is used in Pentium 4-based workstations. As with Ultra160 SCSI, DDRAM provides two data accesses per clock cycle by utilizing both the upward and downward signal slopes. To implement this scheme, a DDR DIMM module requires 184 pins rather than the 168 pins that mark SDRAM. As a result, the two types of memory are not interchangeable.

Some motherboards have slots for both, but if you have a DDR motherboard, you can't use standard PC100/PC133 memory.

Yet again, another poster who did NOT comprehend the question before deciding to post. The question was NOT can you use both types of memory at the same time, NOR was the question will DDR fit in SDRAM memory slots. HOWEVER, the question was do most "motherboards that are DDR capable, have SDRAM capability as well" to which the answer is yes. Now the board in question DOES NOT, but there are many boards that do. So again, before you jump and tell somebody that they are "not true", please read & comprehend the entire post.
