Using My Polaroid LCD 2000 as a monitor problem

I used a standard 15 cable and when I push the TV/AV button to the proper setting, the Microsoft windows logo appears,but the strat up menu does not and the screen goes blank. What am I doing wrong?

Try booting in Safe Mode and lowering the resolution.

Is there a way to get internet access while being in safe mode?On lowering the resolution, I went to the control panel, clicked on the display icon, clicked on settings and made sure the screen resolution was on the lowest point(800 by 600 pixels). I do not know what I am doing wrong?

Was the LCD working in safe mode or are you using a second monitor?

If it worked in Safe mode, then did not when rebooting after setting to 800x600, then try changing the refresh rate to one specified in the LCD manual.

Safe mode will be 640x480. That may be the max the LCD will handle.

Just checked the specs on that monitor. Max resolution is indeed 640 x 480. Many cards don't go that low anymore. You might try using an S-video out card, but frankly it just is not good enough to serve as a PC monitor.
