DvD Shrink Re-author Option ?

why do you think it is that no other dvd backup program [at least none of the many i have tried] contains anything like the reauthor function that dvd shrink/nero recode has ? sure, the others will allow you to remove audio and subtitles and extras and menus . . . but none offer the ability to chop out chapters or chop off the intro and end credits etc like dvd shrink in reauthor mode does. is it perhaps because this feature is very difficult to code/assimilate into a dvd backup app ?

There are other programs that do it, although none as subtly or as freely as DVD Shrink. You might be able to get something like vobblanker ot titlesetblankers to do it, or even DVD Remake Pro, but generally they work at the chapter level, whereas shrink works to the I-frame level.

Who said that re-authoring is a one click sollution. It involes some work from the user, but you will find that the combination DVD Rebuilder and DVD Remake will take you all the way down to the cell level of the DVD. You can disable button action, remove menu contents depending on witch buttons you have disabled, and even make adjustment of the bitrate of each cell.
