I have been banging my head against the wall for a while now.
I have Tivo and an EyeHome. Occaisionally I like to pull something of the Tivo for long term storage and viewing via the EyeHome.
I have had great success ripping and converting my DVD collection (that I own!) for playback through EyeHome and (this is the frustrating part) I had success for a time converting some Tivi files.
I then moved and and did not do any conversions for a while (and did not write down my settings). Since then, the audio is 1 -2 seconds ahead of the video on every file I convert. I have tried all kinds of settings (Codecs, bit-rates, audio settings, etc..). One other change since I had it working successfully is that I upgraded to .09s. Here's the process I am following:
1) Pull file off Tivo (using TivoToGo onto a PC).
2) Decrypt file on PC, leaving an mpg file.
3) Transfer over to my PowerMac (G4 867MHz)
4) Drop into ffmpegX. Info shows the following:
Scrapbook Memories - Game Pieces.mpg
Mpeg 2 Transport Stream [1 program]
Program N.. 1 contains 2 Elementary Streams.
Stream 1:MPEG 1 audio [pid: 1002]
Stream 2:MPEG 2 video [pid: 1001]
5) At this point I have tried most all the presets that EyeHome can handle. I'm pretty sure that I had been using ffmpeg Xvid preset when I had it working.
Any thoughts on why the audio sync is off and what the optimum settings might be?
Thanks in advance!
PS - Thanks for the tool...I use it often and thank you for it!
