Am I the only one here who owns a GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL? I can't believe I actually paid $60 for this thing! I think I bought it within a year after it was introduced. The idea was the grill would cook the top and bottom of the burger (or whatever), but the top of mine didn't generate enough heat, so I ended up having to flip the patty. Used it for a month, then it went into storage in my basement.
Next item I bought was Ron Popeil's Showtime Rotisserie. It did a really good job. The whole chicken came out juicy and it tasted really great. It was a bit of a pain to setup and clean afterwards. Because of that I only used it for a couple months and then it went into storage with the grill.
The last item I actually still use, the PIZZAZZ PIZZA OVEN. It bakes the pizza (top and bottom) while spinning on a pan. Works great with frozen store bought pizzas and ones that you make.
What "As Seen on TV" items have you guys purchased, if any?

set it and forget it!
i tried that once and wound up burning down my house.. -
I have the small JF grill. I've used it a lot. Mostly for
quick hambergers and hotdogs. I think that the top grill does
not properly line up "flat" with the bottom.
I alway end up washing mine under the sink w/ low running
water, tilted and using a plastic brush w/ bristles. Works
great at cleaning it every time. Then, I let it drain, by tilting
it in the sink. The design of the so called, "easy clean" is
nothing more than a myth, IMO. You have to clean it under a
runing tap. I use flavors in my cooking. that's probably why,
because I let it "burn" into the meat I'm JF'ing (cooking)
But, I think the design should have been to make the top/bottom
pans removable for easy cleaning. They should make a next-generation
version w/ this idea in mind. And don't give me bolone about costs.
pfewy.
I still have mine out. Though I hardly use it anymores, there
is still a chance I'll use it for quickies. Hotdogs are one of
those quickies. Best to thow out in refrig first
Chicken breats are another quicky favorite for me. I just
throw some garlic onto bot gril parts (spray first, both sides)
then throw flavors onto gril, then add meat. That works for me
every time
The pizza gizmo you gave pic for sounds like a great treat.
Does it really work well ??
I'd like to use it for "freshly" made pizza (experimental purposes)
and see how it comes out. I like mine well done, little black on
bottom, and cheese on top very brown. Can this pizza gizmo do it ??
I wonder :P

we have two GEORGE FOREMAN GRILLs , a small one and a large one and use both all the time .. the large one is perfect for bacon and stuff like that (not hamburgers which are always made on a normal grill) .. and the smaller one is used for toasted cheese sandwiches.. our large one is really old - first generation and looks diff. than the one in the pic .. VHELP is right, the inner pans should come out maybe, though it is easy to clean anyway , it also needs a handle (maybe they come with one now) as the one we have is hard to handle to put away or take out.
we have a Rotisserie like that one a bit , but it holds the chicken vertical and we use it for pork roasts and chickens quite often ... im not sure who makes it , but it works really great ..
the pizza thing looks like a dumb idea as you can heat a frozen pizza in the oven in a few minutes ... or make one from scratch ...
My wife did buy one of those stupid bread machines though -- which rairly gets used ... and now the stupid paddle bushing is shot ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
I've got a large one ..... JF grill, that is ...
We were given it as an engagement present last October and I use it roughly 3 times a week - steak, chicken, sausages, kebabs .... (it's too F#$%ing cold to be BBQ-ing outside here at this time of year). The missus loves it, as it knocks out the fat <groan>If in doubt, Google it. -
Hi,
Yep have a foreman grill. Don't use it that often but its nice in the winter when you don't want to go outside to grill

I know someone who had one, and it never got cleaned. It was disgusting. I don't own one - I prefer different kinds of food to that (a lot of Italian).

How about the: George Foreman USB iGrill
The low-fat, high-bandwidth solution to your networked cooking needs is finally here. The George Foreman USB iGrill conveniently connects to your home or office PC using USB 2.0 technology, and provides a sophisticated web-based cooking interface.
Download recipes, enter in the type of food, weight and desired degree of doneness, and the iGrill handles the rest. Did you know that a medium rare 1/4 lb. hamburger made from 80% lean beef takes 1 minute and 45 seconds less cook time than an identical patty made from 95% lean prime Black Angus? The iGrill does. As your meal cooks, the subtle glow from under the unit increases brightness and pulses faster until your meal is perfectly done.
Running late at work? Need to get dinner on the table? It is easy to warm up the iGrill from any internet connection. With a little advance planning, your meal can be ready when you get home!
Using the USB current to directly charge high voltage capacitors, the iGrill does not require any additional power supply, making it perfect for dorm or office cooking.

I love my Foreman. Living in an apartment up until recently, the thing was a necessity.
-
I have one, it's great for burgers, fish, ground meat, fajita meat, chicken, pork ... I've used this thing quite a bit in the past 4-5 years that I've owned it.

I have one and I love it (GF grill). Don't use that often but its great when I do. Great for some grilled samiches and grilled cheese.
His name was MackemX

With the PIZZAZZ there is no need to pre-heat the oven and during hot days, it won't heat up the house like the oven. Plus overall it does a better job baking the pizza IMHO. -
The new ones that they sell on QVC have removable grill plates. I might be getting one in the near future.

I had a GF grill for Christmas - works great but tends to leave things a bit dry....

What I'd like to know, how many here have bought from... excluding the products mentioned earlier "as advertised on tv". Anyone remember GLH the spray-on hair, now that was a joke. How about a chia-pet. I personally don't buy the infomercial products. -garman

I have heard many people have the GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL and like it. I don't usually like the "As Seen On TV" product because they are usually overpriced pieces of plastic. But I had people tell me that they cook food well and they use it all the time not just a kitchen gadget got used once and in the cabnet somewhere.
I actually had Chia Pet once. I got one because you always see the commercial Christmas time but nobody actually buys that thing. I got one just to say "i have this" but not really for any other purpose. I used it once then it closet. It broke I think and I threw it out. -
Can't live without the damned George Foreman grill. Sounds like yours was broke or something though.
quick burgers and much more -
I have some old Bosch dual-sided electric grill which I bought on sale when they were closing down one of the stores in my area. It was the only single piece, in a damaged box, with German words on it, probably thats why no one bought it for years until I came for store closing
It has a fat drip channels etc - it is very similiar to that of GF grill you guys talking about, but the teflon trays are removable from top and bottom for easy cleaning. Oh, and the top and bottom both heat up well and evenly, so I guess I've made a better deal (I think it was $19.99) than you guys with the GF grill
And did I mentioned it is Made in Switzerland?
I would never buy any hardware from TV lolJust because it is being advertised on tv for half an hour - it must already cost TWICE as much as same product from other brand that is not advertised on tv, aint it obvious?
Suckers -
I don't use my George Foreman Grill (George is spelled with a "G" for all of those who abbreviated it as "JF".) very much. I could never get good results with it. Besides, the little fat run-off trays are too small and fill up too fast.

After the problems with the Teflon peeling off the George Foreman
I bought a Cuisinart.
The same blasted thing happened!!! The grills aren't being abused
or over-heated. Other people have the same problem.
Aside from the Teflon peeling, the grills are great. I even made pizza, but I
propped the lid up slightly above the pizza.
@garman......
We had a Chia Pet also. The store was sold out of the
green ones, so we bought a red one..............

I guess you decided to keep this chia pet. How much water do you feed it?
