  1. i trying to make a avi file into a dvd useing tmpgenc xpress dvd encoder but at 50% complete it stops and i get a message that says invalid sample format and the encodeing stops.and how do i make the volume louder when makeing a a dvd movie i useing tmpgenc xpress encoder and my burning prgram is nero cause after i make a dvd i have to turn up my tv all the way to hear it

    Virtualdubmod will give you the option of changing the volume in an avi, just alter the volume in the streams list (using a slider bar-you will have to use full processing mode or the volume button will be greyed out) and then save the audio as a wave file, then disable your original audio and add the new wave file you have created and save the file in direct stream copy mode. You could use nero to encode the avi for dvd. Your volume should bring the neighbours around now.
