I think the Empire Strikes Back as the best in the series. It contained the most drama out of all. I do like all the films in the series. Empire Strikes Back is my Favorite one out of the 5 so far.
May the force be with you.

  4. Empire Stirkes back has the best story, and is my favorite. But The Return of the Jedi had the best visual effects. Even better than Episode I & II.

  6. The first Star Wars was a masterpiece. Nothing had ever been seen like it before.

Empire Strikes Back was very much more character driven, but had its huge finale at the beginning.

All the rest were "how many toys can we shift!"

    So there!

  9. Definately Episode 4 "A New Hope". Empire was only half a film, Jedi was "George Lucas does Care Bears!" and the first two prequils could have been any sci-fi film series.

  10. Star Wars was my pick. Nothing else like it at the time. Without it, we wouldn't have the other star wars films. Also, would film sfx be where they are now if star wars hadn't come along?

Empire Strikes Back followed closely by A New Hope.

    mine was, none other.. than

    The Empire Strikes Back

Something about opening scene and that frozen planet they were all on.
It was well done. The chase and the Astoroids were another scene I
fell in love with. Actually, the theme music during the Astoroid chase was
memorable becuase during that time (1982 I think) I had purchased a
new Tape Deck. Back then, I was into Tapes n stuff. Anyways.. the store
clerk was demoing the sound quality of the Tape decks, and in the end,
I choose some model that had fanzy two-color-bar (green/blue) and
apparently when I got the unit home, the clerk had left the tape inside
the unit (was a floore model, and gave me price cut) Anyways.. it turns
out that the tape had lots of good quality clasical/orchestra pieces, AND
one of them was the orchestra piece of the Asteroids scene. I like the
that particular piece, and played it many times for some strange reason.
One day, The Empire Strikes Back came on, wound't you know it,
that familiar piece was playing. In short, I pieced togerther that Demo Tape
and the movie, and.. well, this was SURELY my favorite movie of them all.

That's my STRANGE choice I know there's a word or phrase that goes
with these kinds of experiences that people go through. Wish I knew what
    it was - anybody ?? a little help ??

May the force Be with You !!

  13. Starwar or was it Hardware Wars...

Actualy Starwar then Empire on the list. The rest are just retelling/redoing situations or just one long ad for movie spinnoffs.

Starwars was so far beyond what had come out before it as to make it a milestone in movies. Esp when you consider the previous year movie was Logans Run.

    In Empire the bad guys beat the heck out of the Rebels! { Evil laughter goes here! }

Maybe the next pole shoud be do you care about the next and final Starwars movie? After the last two duds, I dont care any more! Esp when I have the last final unmodified LD set of the first three movies!

  15. I really wasnt to concerned about the independent contractors. They just got greedy and took the Death Star job, cause working for the Empire always means a good paycheck.

Was a tough call. I cut all the 'Teenage Mutant Hormone Jedi' scenes out of Attack of the Clones, and it was a Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better movie! So it's either the 'Gazorgan Edition' of Clones or Empire Strikes Back original.

the empire strikes back is easily the best star wars movie.
because it's darker and the story has much more emotional impact.
i think the best sequel ever was "the godfather part II"- the only sequel to win the best picture oscar.

  24. This may be a stupid answer to the question, but the first 10-15 minutes of The Phantom Menace was spectacular.

    hay daesdaemar..

I agree, the first 10 minutes was awsom (IMO too) the rest of the movie
was good too. I actually went out and purchased my DVD of the 2nd
movie - now i have both, but I still haven't seen the 2nd one yet
I'm sure I'll enjoy it just the same as the Phantom...

    ZippP..
you are SOO right.. Space Oddessy 2001 was great for it's time, and I think
    it came out in '68
    .
    .
Loguns run was pretty good too. THEY SHOULD MAKE A SEQUEL TO THAT!!

  26. my favorite was A New hope...Empire had a good plot to it and more drama..Jedi had a great story with wrapping everything together...Yes it was a Care bear movie but the final space dogfight was great...But it doesn't compare to the trench in A New Hope...The new stuf is crap compaired to the others...Lucas has eatin to many Big Macs over the years...The new stuff doesn't have the chemistry of the charicters like the others...Jar Jar.. Need I say more?? Has anyone downloaded the version that has ommitted Jar Jar out completely? I have yet to see it but I'm sure it makes a much better movie....

For Star Wars the best is: Empire Strikes Back.

For Star Trek the best is: Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan.

    Empire was No. 1.

Phantom Menace, Attack OF The Clones and whatever the 3rd film will be is pure garbage. There is not even one frame of these movies that is good. The effects are severely sub par. The original trilogy had better effects, they may have been models and fur suits but at least it looked real. Lucas has disgraced himself. If he wasn't so bloody rich and powerful from the first series he would never work again.
