Whilst Episode 2 was piss-poor compared to it's predessors it made a lot of sense and was very well written.
The problem with the latter three is they are story driven, rather than character driven, and the stories are shite.
If they continue in the same vein then the last will be the fourth best

  4. Barbarella 8)

I never understood Star Wars...was just a little too over my head :P

I'm probably the only person whose never seen anything past the first one...and I've only seen the full movie one time (not counting the Super8mm film I had at the time the movie was released in theaters)

I actually didn't get Barbarella at first, but that flick is hilarious
I like the sci-fi stuff if it's campy like that.

Though I liked the original Planet Of The Apes movies for some reason, and also the already mentioned, Logan's Run and 2001 (mostly the beginning for the editing and cinematography)

BTW @ Vhelp - they made a short-lived cheesy TV series out of Logan's Run in the '70s.

Good movies really don't need sequels, IMHO

I'm surprised Barbarella never got sequeled to death
The closest was a remake that hasn't gotten released yet...and maybe Cherry 2000 or Duran Duran's video, Electric Barbarella could be compared to a degree.

I'm waiting for Scar Wars - Hollywood's battle of the fake boobs series to start...we all know there are more than enough fake boobs to fill the bill

for me it is a tie between a new hope and empire strikes back. a new hope had the best chemistry between the cast, but empire's script was more apealling to me.

    Hello,

Ooohh.... A Star Wars thread I didn't get to contribute too

I voted Return of the Jedi.... It wrapped up the original trilogy perfectly..

I loved the lightsaber duel between Luke and Vader at the very end just before the Emperor zaps him with lightning.

    ----------------------------

By the way, I LOVE THE PREQUELS Just not quite as much as the originals, maybe 95% as much

The prequels fill in most of the gaps. And Revenge of the Sith looks AWESOME. And it won't turn out like Matrix Revolutions. This final part of the trilogy will actually be GOOD

I'd go Empire, then Star Wars, the Tgpo I am your father in that order, Then maybe Clones, Jedi & Episode I although the Trailer for Episode I was great! It was better than the movie!

Stay on Target! Stay on Target!

Now that I've seen some trailers, I'm really leaving hope that the next one will be the best. Looks to be darker, more evil... I hate that campy feeling the first set gave us. And if it wasn't for the incredibly AWEFULL acting of Christianson(?), Clones could have one of the greatest.
    Have a good one,

I chose Star Wars. Empire, to me, was ruined when Mark Hammil tried to act. Also it had several bridge scenes where the blackness of space was grey-er than the blackness of Vader and his surroundings. It ruined my suspension of disbelief. Yoda was the only thing I really liked about Empire Strikes Back. I knew he was just a puppet but I was totally blown away by how much he moved.

Still, the original Star Wars had more grit to it and that lent to the age of the machines, spaceships and droids in it. The film stock was grainier, too. Everything afterwards became sort of a special effects pagentry.

I thought Hammil's acting was far better in Empire then in a New Hope. I remember when they re-released it in theatres, the whole theatre laughed when Luke whined "But Aunt Beru..." It was really kinda sad how those first scenes didn't age well...IMO.

But Empire, I thought Hammil was really believable, especially in the classic "I'm your father scene." Its so cool how he didn't even know the plot twist until right before they shot the scene, and how Vader's lines were dubbed in later.

I'm sure I voted in this thread, but just to make it official after all the installments were in place....
