  1. i have a strange problem with mencoder.

i want to make XVID avis from DVB-T MPEG data:

I convert my DVB streams to M2P in ProjectX
i cut the M2P in Mpegitor and export the result as a VOB file.

the vob plays fine in VLC. FFmpegX shows an mp2 audio track (in summary).

but if i use XVID Mencoder i get no sound. if i press 'play' in ffmpegX i can see the video, but there is no sound, too. i have tried different track numbers, but still no sound.

if i use ffmeg XVID as codec, the sound is ok, but the image quality is very bad in compare to mencoder. i use the same data rate, high quality, b-frames.

is this a mplayer problem? what can i do to get sound in combination with mencoder?

  2. You may recombine audio by using "Mux as.. AVI" on the silent AVI and a mp3 or wav file.

  3. i have found a solution:

in ProjectX there are options to strip aditional DVB data, during export.
mencoder gets confused by this data. if i use only mpv + mpa streams it works.
