I have some AVI files (which use different kind of codecs) that I only can play them in Windows Media Player and changing the Hardware Acceleration (to medium or low).
I use other players like mplayer2 (into WMP folder), DivX, and Media Player Classic... none worked well, I get no video (just sound) and I have all codecs installed. But using MPC I saved one screenshot and the image looks fine (?)
The problem for me is that I use subtitle programs (like Subtitle Workshop) and when I load the video (to make the synchronization), the video plays like when I use mplayer2, DivX, MPC, etc. So I don't understand why the videos play fine (in some way) in WMP and not with other players.
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
Thanks
JCarlos

my first suggestion would be VLC media player.. my second suggestion would be BSplayer (free edition)..
