Ok, so I am trying to burn 8 avi files onto a DVD, and they are each 40 minutes long, so 240 minutes. I know this can be done, and I have tried a way that was on this site (DIKO). Whenever I try to encode any video with DIKO it gives me this error:
"Enabling the 3:2 pulldown flag via pulldown.exe returned an error flag. You can configure DIKO to ignore this failure (sometimes it doesn't cause problems)"
Is there an easier way to do this using another program? I also want to make a menu so I can go to each avi clip (the guide told me to use DVD-lab Pro in addition to DIKO)
I currently have DVD Shrink, Santa, Decrypter, DIKO.
Thanks.

you can do this with THE FILM MACHINE - load all avi files and go ..
not sure if menu part is completly working , use the beta version here

The guide says to select the conversion to KDVD, but there's an option for KSVCD. i picked KDVD.

BJ_M...so will Film Machine create 8 different vob files? That way I can go into DVD-lab Pro and create a menu that way
-
the film machine will create the menu and the everything for you by itself

oh so I won't be able to make a pretty menu with a picture in the background and have all the 8 movies listed out so you can choose which one to watch?
-
another quick question...do I have to change bit rate on there, or will it automatically recognize that I have 240 minutes and change the bit rate accordingly?
-
automatic

blah...another quick question, The FilmMachine provides QuEnc encoder...should i get the Cinema Craft Encode or the Canopus Procoder. Are they significantly better than QuEnc?

aight, so I did a trial run with FilmMachine...I'm basically a noob at this stuff, though I have a pretty good handle on basic things...FilmMachine created a PS VOB file (Video & Audio multiplexed together)...so now I want to go into DVD-lab PRO to make a menu and everything, but when I put the VOB file in there, it asks:
"What do you want to do?"
3 Options:
Join and Demultiplex to Elementary Streams (highly recommended)
--This will demultiplex the set of VOB files into one large ES video and one or more ES audio files.
Use this file directly without demultiplexing (Don't join VOB set)
--Only basic check will be performed and the file will be used as it is. If the file is not DVD compliant it will probably fail during Compiling or playing.
Use file set directly without Demultiplexing (Join VOB's first)
--Same as above but the *1.VOB, *2.VOB etc will be first joined into one file
So yea, I honestly have no idea what any of those mean...if I want to do what I want to do (create 8 avi files onto a DVD with a menu), which option should I choose? And if possible, could you give me a brief explanation of the 3 different choices? -
you can pick one of the below as files are dvd compliant .
What the diff. is is self explaining. :
Use this file directly without demultiplexing (Don't join VOB set)
or
Use file set directly without Demultiplexing (Join VOB's first)"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Ok, so I did a test run with The Film Machine again...if I want to use dvd-lab pro to create menus, do I just import the vob file that was in the VIDEO_TS folder? I only ask this because in the parent folder above VIDEO_TS, it created a large TFM_Muxed_Video.mpg, as well as a M2V, AC3, and a MPV file. I am just wondering what those are and if I can delete them?
One last question..it seems as though my computer cannot handle encoding 8-40 minute shows at the same time (think i need more ram, only have 512). I am assuming that TFM would recognize I am putting that much on a single DVD, so it would automatically change the bit rate to fit on a single DVD5...If I made 4 and 4, and imported to DVD-Lab Pro, would DLP recognize I am putting that much stuff on a single disc and resize everything?
