current issues with AVC/H.264 need advis on how to play them

hi all having problems playing AVC/H.264 movies som work some are just audio this is becasue there are diffrent types AVC/H.264 and i can play the quicktime (.mp4) versions of AVC/H.264 but i can ot play the (mpg) AVC/H.264 versions justt the audo no picture so can someone help

now i have quicktime 7 installed which uses which do play
mp4: which is the container of AVC defined in the MPEG-4 Standard (ISO 14496-15) and supported by Nero, Sorenson, Envivio, Moonlight and x264 atm


but when i encode with mainconcept it saves it as this
.mpg: which is the container of AVC defined in the MPEG-2 Standard (ISO 13818-1, AMD3) and supported by Mainconcept and Moonlight atm

which i can not play only audio do you know how i can make it work ???

If you can decode AVC in mp4, then you a decoder. You only need a codec if you also want to encode.

Now since you have a decoder already the issue would be an MPEG-TS parser that can handle AVC in mpg, which I am pretty sure mplayer's can which is why I suggested it. It also includes libavc's AVC decoder and mencoder includes x264 for encoding.
