I have a stand alone dvd recorder/player with which I burn my favorite TV shows (The Shield, etc.) to DVD+R. I have always been able to play them back.
I now have a dell laptop with a burner, into which I want to pull the dvd+r discs data, so that I can edit, add menues, etc. The laptop dvd drive does not recognize the disc?? Ideas??

I'll have to check, but I thought the disc auto-finalized, when recording stopped.
will let you know.

My first guess would be that your new dvdrom does not support +R discs. You need to look up the model # or go to Dell's website and see what type of discs it supports. Not all drives support -R AND +R.
