A penny saved is a waste of time. One in the hand is only worth 0.5 in the bush. A stitch in time saves nothing.

thanks for the info. I bought a 550 a few months ago after it was so hyped up by ATI an I have yet to use it because no software that I have found provides the flexibility that MMC did.
Does it allow you to pick resolutions/interlace settings/bitrate..etc?
thanks! -

Has anyone tried capturing with Videowave 7? I cannot find a way to capture mpeg with Videowave with the 550pro. Also, there are audio sync issues. Infact, I have found that there are audio sync issues with all the capture software I've tried except for Cyberlink PowerDirector 4. But I can't even use PowerDirector 4 to capture because it crashes and loses the file after I stop a capture. Doesn't the 550pro supposed to process video/audio simultaneously to circumvent audio sync problems???
I can't even use the bundled PowerCinema!!!! When I try watching channels, it will load the picture, I will hear audio, but then seconds later the screen goes blank and the computer reboots. -
You need a Bios and or driver update most liekly..

ATI really really really did a terrible thing by hyping up this product so much and then bundling absolute garbage with it. I called one of their rep's the other day just to hear it myself that they don't plan on ever making it available for use with MMC. I got it (partially) functioning with the beyondTV program but that is the gayest thing i've ever seen...I can't tell it I want to record in 352x480 w/4500kb bitrate, I get the incredibly detailed settings of "Fair", "Good", "Better" or "Best". And I might not know I hit a button if not for the "whooop" noises it makes for every single thing i do.

I am using the latest ATI drivers. I swapped motherboards. I swapped PSUs. I even swapped 550pro cards. What else can I do??
-
greymalkin can't use diff video resolution like 352x480 your stuck with 720x480 only
-
justinluck you said you swapped motherboards what was it before and after.
You all need to keep in mind that the 550 Pro is Hardware Encoder so there for some tools may not work.
Roxio Easy Media Creator is waste carp there I pitt the fool that use it. -
I just want to know a tool that WILL work
. Although it's a bit of an inconvenience, I can get around not being able to capture @ 352 x 480. I suppose I just thought it would have all the features of the previous cards with the added hardware mpeg encoding feature. from what you are saying it seems alot more "locked down".
