I have a DVD of Sean Of The Dead I got from Sweden, and its in PAL. I need it in NTSC...but I also need the subtitles for my friends. Is there a way to keep the subs selectable but make the video NTSC?

Na you'd have to rip it & re-author. I dont think you're allowed to talk about that type of activity here so I'm not sure you'll get many answers to your post.

Just buy a NTSC version, it's pretty cheap now anyway,

I need the swedish subs. Thats why. And last i checked, going from Pal to NTSC isnt illegal at all, as long as you own the dvd. Other than going to PC im stumped.

  4. If you can find a copy of Sizzle 0.1 it comes with a small program called Subtractor that will produce a subtitle file. Rip out your main feature, use MPEG2Works 4 to do a PAL>NTSC conversion of the mpeg. Re-author in Sizzle selecting the previously ripped subs when you author. As long as the PAL feature isn't at a 25 fps frame rate (just at a PAL aspect ratio) you should be okay with timing.

    Hi Q,

I said 'not sure' & 'think'. I'm new(ish) here and there is no problem with chattin' about backing up your movies, I wasn't sure when I posted... but it seems that pixeljammedia has answered and you can do what you want probably on mac. I was just saying that AFAIK there is no VIDEO_TS - VIDEO_TS directory standards convertor.

I have no idea if changing the standard of the disc is illegal or not... and have never used Sizzle either,

    Hope it all works out,
