I have followed all steps, i believe, as set out in this guide. I have encoded and burned a couple movies now and am finding that when i play them they seem a little jerky at some points. Kind of like they stall for a split second. Any suggestions on what i may be doing wrong?

I have the same when using TMPEGEnc. Before I used this I used Videowave SE which came with my Firewire card. This makes a fluid VCD but when I cut some ads out of a taped X-Files series the sound got terribly out of sync.
Now I am using VirtuDub for cutting and Videowave for encoding. But it is still not perfect... The audio tends to get slightly out of sync towards the end of the VCD.
The Jerkyness with TMPEGEnc occurs only when played with my stand-alone player. If played on my computer it is fluid.
